At GuiasTur LLC, we know that sometimes plans change — flights get delayed, life happens, or you just need to move things around. We try to stay as flexible and fair as possible while also respecting the work of our guides, local partners, and small businesses who depend on early bookings.
Please take a moment to read how refunds and cancellations work below.
1. General Rules
All cancellations or changes must be sent to us in writing by email at [email protected].
Refund eligibility depends on how far in advance you cancel your trip.
2. Cancellation by Traveler
If you cancel your trip:
More than 60 days before departure:
Full refund minus a 5% admin fee (to cover banking and booking costs).
30–59 days before departure:
70% of the total trip price will be refunded.
15–29 days before departure:
50% refund of total trip price.
14 days or less before departure:
No refund — by that point, all logistics, permits, and hotels are already confirmed and paid.
Note: if you booked a custom or private tour, cancellation rules may vary slightly depending on the suppliers and destinations involved. We’ll always let you know these details before payment.
3. Deposits
All tours require a 30% deposit to confirm your booking.
This deposit is non-refundable, but it can be used as credit for another trip within 12 months if you cancel at least 30 days before departure.
4. Changes & Rescheduling
We understand things happen.
If you need to change travel dates or switch to a different tour:
First change: free (if made at least 30 days before the start date)
Further changes: may include a small admin fee ($50–$100, depending on arrangements)
We’ll always do our best to reschedule your trip without extra cost when possible.
5. Cancellation by GuiasTur
In very rare cases (like natural disasters, political unrest, or not enough participants), GuiasTur may need to cancel or reschedule a trip.
If this happens, you’ll get one of these options:
Full refund of all money paid, or
Credit toward a future tour, valid for 18 months
We are not responsible for other expenses (like international flights or visas) that aren’t booked through GuiasTur.
6. No-Show Policy
If you don’t show up on the departure day or miss parts of the tour due to personal reasons, unfortunately we can’t offer refunds for unused services.
7. Force Majeure (Unexpected Events)
Events like earthquakes, extreme weather, strikes, or pandemics that make travel impossible may affect refunds.
In such cases, GuiasTur will work with local partners to recover as much as possible, but some non-recoverable costs may still apply.
8. Refund Method
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for booking (credit card, bank transfer, etc.).
Processing time may take 7–15 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
9. Travel Insurance
We highly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, delays, and medical emergencies.
It’s the best way to protect your investment if something unexpected happens.
