Day 1 – Arrival in Punta Arenas, Transfer to Puerto Natales
Arrive at Punta Arenas Airport, where your local guide will greet you and assist with luggage and transportation. Enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 3 hours through Patagonian landscapes, spotting rolling hills, sheep farms, and windswept plains along the way. Check into your hotel in Puerto Natales, a charming town nestled along the fjords. Take some time to explore the waterfront, local shops, or cafes, and settle in for a welcome dinner featuring traditional Patagonian cuisine such as roasted lamb and fresh seafood. Your guide will provide an overview of the next days’ adventures and answer any questions.
Day 2 – Torres del Paine National Park, Easy Hike
After breakfast, transfer into the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. Begin with a moderate hike to viewpoints offering iconic panoramas of the granite towers, turquoise lakes, and glaciers. Along the way, your guide will share insights about the park’s geology, flora, and fauna, including guanacos, condors, and foxes. Pause for photos at Laguna Amarga and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon for rest and dinner, sharing stories of the day and preparing for more challenging hikes ahead.
Day 3 – Full-Day Trekking in Torres del Paine
Rise early for a full-day trek to experience the park’s most famous trails. Depending on your chosen route, you may hike around the base of the Towers or explore the French Valley with its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls. Your guide will point out native wildlife, unique plant species, and historical landmarks along the trail. Stop for lunch with panoramic views of the mountains and lakes. In the afternoon, descend to a scenic campsite or lodge for dinner. The day combines adventure, endurance, and awe-inspiring natural beauty, leaving you fully immersed in Patagonia’s wild landscapes.
Day 4 – Grey Glacier Boat Tour
After breakfast, transfer to the embarkation point for a full-day boat tour of Grey Glacier. Cruise along the glacial lake, admiring massive icebergs and the striking blue hues of the glacier face. Learn from your guide about glacial formation, local geology, and the park’s ecology. Optional short hikes on nearby trails allow you to explore viewpoints and take unique photos of the glacier and surrounding mountains. Day 5 – Optional Kayaking or Horseback Riding
Today offers optional adventure activities tailored to your interests. Choose between kayaking through pristine Patagonian waters or horseback riding across scenic valleys and plains. Each activity is guided by experienced local instructors, ensuring safety and maximizing enjoyment. Enjoy a packed lunch outdoors, surrounded by nature. Day 6 – Travel to El Calafate, Free Afternoon
After breakfast, transfer across the border into Argentina and arrive in El Calafate. Check into your hotel and enjoy a leisurely afternoon to explore the town, visit local artisan shops, or sample Argentine treats such as empanadas and Patagonian chocolates. Dinner is on your own or with the group, giving you time to rest for the next day’s glacier adventure.
Day 7 – Perito Moreno Glacier Excursion
Today’s highlight is the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the world’s most impressive ice formations. Walk along the network of viewing platforms for different perspectives of the glacier. Watch ice calving dramatically into the lake and listen to your guide explain glacial dynamics and local ecology. Optional boat tours bring you closer to the glacier’s face for unforgettable photos. Return to El Calafate in the evening for a celebratory farewell dinner.
Day 8 – Departure from El Calafate
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to El Calafate Airport for your departure flight. Say goodbye to your guide and fellow travelers, carrying memories of Patagonia’s stunning landscapes, wildlife encounters, and unforgettable adventures.
