Day 1 – Cusco to Trailhead, Trek to Wayllabamba
Early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Drive approximately 3–4 hours to the trailhead at km 82.
Meet your guide and porters, get a briefing on trail safety, and start the trek.
Trek 11 km through Andean valleys, passing small rivers and lush forests.
Arrive at Wayllabamba, set up camp, and enjoy a hearty dinner prepared by the trekking team.
Overnight in tents under the stars, acclimatizing to the altitude (approx. 3,000 m).
Day 2 – Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo (Dead Woman’s Pass)
Breakfast at camp before a challenging day.
Begin ascent to Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200 m), the highest point of the trek, with breathtaking mountain vistas.
Stop along the way for water, snacks, and photos. Your guide will explain the local flora, fauna, and Inca history.
Descend to Pacaymayo, a campsite nestled in a valley surrounded by peaks.
Dinner and overnight in tents. Evening includes storytelling by the guide about Inca culture and the significance of the trail.
Day 3 – Pacaymayo to Wiñay Wayna
Breakfast at camp, then continue trekking 16 km through diverse landscapes.
Pass through multiple Inca ruins, including Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, and Phuyupatamarca. Explore stone terraces, ceremonial sites, and ancient architecture with your guide.
Hike along narrow paths through cloud forests, enjoying panoramic views of the mountains and valleys below.
Arrive at Wiñay Wayna, a remarkable Inca site with terraces and ancient structures perched on the hillside. Explore the ruins and enjoy a final camping dinner.
Day 4 – Wiñay Wayna to Machu Picchu
Wake up early (around 4:00–4:30 AM) for the final trek to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku).
Arrive in time to witness sunrise over Machu Picchu, a truly unforgettable experience.
Guided tour of Machu Picchu, exploring the Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, and other iconic structures. Your guide shares insights into Inca engineering, culture, and history.
Free time for photos, optional hikes to viewpoints, or further exploration of the citadel.
Descend to Aguas Calientes village for lunch.
Afternoon train ride back to Cusco, arriving in the evening for transfer to your hotel.
